Hello dolls!

I love tanning! But not too much, as I don’t want to damage my skin. I love laying out at the beach on a hot summer day, and I occasionally go to the tanning salon to keep my skin glowing and bronze. I don’t claim to be a tanning expert, but when I’m doing something to do my body especially when it’s my skin, I do a lot of research. I want to maximize my tan (but not tanning too often), keep my tan going, and keeping my skin healthy.

I’m not going to lecture on the what to do and what not to do’s of tanning, perhaps that will be a future post. But today I’m going to share with you how I keep my tan all throughout the year without having to go to a tanning salon too often. Main rule is, TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN! Exfoliate before a tanning session, and moisturize your skin after. And make sure to treat your skin after you’ve spent a day at the beach (or a strong tanning salon session)!

Don’t get me wrong though, sometimes I think having paler skin is so pretty. And I’ll go without tanning for almost a year, but then I’ll change my mind and want to be tan again. It’s an ongoing battle in my life.

Wishtrend sent me another package this summer, and the items are perfect for my tanning after care.

I did read through the ingredient list, looking for any mineral oils or such that can actually whiten/take away my tan. And it’s all good.

This aloe gel from a Korean brand called Klair’s is not your average aloe vera gel!
It contains four main ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice
Portulaca Oleracea Extract
Witch Hazel Water
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract

Portulaca Oleracea has been used to treat insect or snake bites on the skin, boils, sores, pain from bee stings, and other things like digestive problems, etc. So you can guess that the extract will help with after sun care. Camellia Sinensis is also known as green tea extract. I did a little research on how it can benefit the skin, but apparantly there hasn’t been so much research done on camellia sinensis benefits on skin. But skin experts say it’s a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging ingredient. As for the Witch Hazel, I think most of us knows that witch hazel has many benefits for the skin. The primary active ingredient in witch hazel is the tannins, which have astringent properties, that help to tighten and constrict blood vessels and restore vessel and skin tone. Witch hazel can be used to relieve itching, sooth minor burns, treat sun burns & bug bites, eczema, and so much more. This is definitely beneficiary for your after sun care! I used to use another product from a tanning lotion company, I cannot remember exactly the name right now, but one of the main ingredients contained witch hazel in it. And sometimes after an intense tanning session, it really helped sooth my skin and get rid of the sun bumps(?) I’d sometimes get. Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice will help with soothing your skin, and serve as an anti-inflammatory.

It’s a gel formula, and very easy to blend into the skin. It’s not thick, and feels soothing to the skin. I’m having a little difficulty placing the smell, but it’s not strong and smells a little perfumy. Actually the smell is faint, but the smell fades away. So that’s good! Not that it smells bad or anything.

The first few minutes it does feel a little sticky on the skin, but once it dries (quickly) you won’t feel it. I like to apply it when I’ve returned home from the beach or tanning salon. Then after a couple hours I apply lotion. I don’t take a shower until hours later. You don’t want to take a shower till 4~5 hours after tanning!

Wait! That’s not all you can use this aloe gel for. You can use it as a wash off face mask, just apply it to your face, wash after 15 minutes. And continue with your skin care regime. And why or how does it help your face?

Moving on to the Hello Everybody Nature Holic body products!

Travel size body wash and body milk/lotion by a Korean brand, Hello Everybody. The line is called Nature Holic, and there are 4 types you can choose from! I received Honey Milk.

I love what this body care brand promises! And the certificated ingredient best 2 are Herb Aloe Water, and Hinature Powder. Aloe contains abundant minerals that is used as a moisturizer material for the skin. It will make your skin shiny and smooth. Hinature Powder helps treating skin irritation and eczema. It is also used as a mild natural preservative. Hinature is a flower by the way!

There are four lines available in this organic body care line, Pink Grapefruit, Honey Milk, Fresh herb and Sweet Peach. All catering to different skin issues. Honey Milk is for dry skin or those who need long lasting hydration and healthy skin. Honey Milk’s main ingredients are goat milk, manuca honey and herb clean complex (ecocert-certified). Goat milk is great for all skin types, not just dry skin! It contains different vitamins and high amounts of them, including minerals. Manuca Honey is a monofloral honey made by bees in New Zealand. Herb Clean Complex is oregano, spearmint and lemon balm, which all protects the skin from irritation.

Keeping your skin hydrated is vital in tanning! You want to maintain your tan, right? And not waste it away and let it fade? Then you must lather up with lotion! From what I can tell, and I’m not a scientist so I could always be wrong, but there doesn’t seem to be any ingredients in the body wash or lotion that will fade your tan. Out of the 4 types in the Hello Everybody Nature Holic line, Honey Milk is best suited for after sun/tanning care! It’ll moisturize and keep your skin healthy!

I really like the smell of the wash and lotion! I asked my husband what it smells like and all he said was “lotion”. It smells a lot like most milk lotions, it does have a back/base smell of perfume but its not strong. It’s easy to blend into the skin, and it kept my skin hydrated. It didn’t last as long as some other lotions I like, but the fact that it’s organic and all, I really like it. I’m very picky with my lotions, and I’m going to pick up a big size of this lotion!

I received a package from Wishtrend.com. I have done a post on Wishtrend.com here. If you didn’t get to read it, or not familiar with Wishtrend.com. Here’s a quick summary: Wishtrend is a company/shop in South Korea (my home country!). They have many Korean brands on their online store, from skin care, make up, gorgeous pink Mustaev make up brushes and even men’s skin care. Alright on to the package I received By the way! I have been using the vitamin C cream for 9~10 days!

Vitamin C Plus Brightening and a sample size package of the vitamin creams.

Vitamin C! I was very excited to try this, because I used to use another vitamin C serum from Kiehl’s called Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate that I absolutely love!!! I have been using the Skin & Lab vitamin C for 9~10 days now. I saw overall brightening of my complexion. So it delivered on what it promises. Except, I have yet to see my dark circles brighten. But 9~10 days is not enough time to see if the vitamin C cream does brighten up dark circles. Prior to using this, I have been going tanning. So my face has freckles! And the vitamin C cream helped to clear my freckles up. I did not go tanning for the 9~10 days, ’cause I wanted to see if it would brighten up my complexion.

I will start tanning again, and continue to use the vitamin C cream. I think it will help my skin balance with dehydration from tanning, and help to keep my skin more even complexion.

I have been using this as a serum. So my skin care routine is: toner > vitamin c cream > moisturizer > eye cream.

LOVES
Feels nice and soaks into the skin very well.
Does not leave any residue/film.
Helps with moisture & skin brightening.
Pleasant smell. – It does have a slight citrus smell but I swear I can smell witch hazel. I’m not sure though!

DISLIKES
It isn’t as strong as what I hoped for like my Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate. Although the Kiehl’s one and this one promises different things. The Kiehl’s has vitamin C concentrate in it, so it helps with brightening up complexion.
I have yet to see my dark circles brighten/clear up. But I didn’t have enough time to see a difference.

BTW, When you’re mixing the vitamin creams. You can mix them on your hand.

Like I said, the vitamin cream soaks very well into the skin, and doesn’t leave a residue/film or any type of stickiness, etc.
